Higher political culture will facilitate transformation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine into a European, democratic institution.
Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman said this opening the International Conference for Parliamentary Ethics.
"Code of conduct, ethics, political culture are important elements of our activity. This is what can turn the Ukrainian Parliament into a European, modern, democratic institution," he said.
Groysman informed that the issue of deputy ethics is one of the keys of the internal reformation of the Ukrainian Parliament. Within the framework of the Memorandum on mutual understanding with the European Parliament, the European Parliament’s Needs Assessment Mission headed by Pat Cox worked in the Ukrainian Parliament. Basing on results of the work of the Mission, a report and a roadmap will be presented in the European Parliament in Brussels (Belgium) on February 29.
